Ever since she was young, Agnès has been driven by clear values and ethics: respect, sincerity, solidarity, teamwork and loyalty to her beliefs. Since the brand was created, Agnès has remained true to these values.
Above all, agnès b. strives to be a responsible brand, mindful of its manufacturing processes and its impact on the planet, attentive to the trust and loyalty it has built up with its suppliers, and respectful of its customers and employees.
As a true pioneer, agnès b. has always envisioned fashion as sustainable. “The fact that the clothes I create last a long time is very important to me.” This bucks the trend for “disposable” fashion, which promotes overconsumption of clothing items. She designs timeless fashion, iconic models that are carried over and updated season after season, with cross-generational appeal.
These values reflect the principles that Paraboot has adhered to on a daily basis since 1908.
Two brands, two histories in Les Halles de Paris
Paraboot for agnès b., an exclusive collaboration! Two French brands and two histories which both began in Les Halles de Paris. Les Halles de Paris… where the agnès b. story began !
Die-hard agnès b. fans know the history of La Rue du Jour, home to the brand’s very first store, and the famous lamb signage.
Les Halles de Paris… this famous covered market also forms part of the history of Paraboot and its “Imbattable” shoes worn by artisans – renowned for being indestructible and irreplaceable.
As early as the 1920s, when Paraboot first set up shop at 6 rue du Bourg l’Abbé, the brand began selling specific products connected to the Les Halles de Paris market.
After selling their goods, artisans from the food industry (meat, poultry, game, tripe, fish, fruit and vegetables) would naturally come to purchase their work equipment.
Created around this time, the Imbattable model quickly became a best-seller. With its high-top design based on a simple pattern, made from robust leather with a Norwegian-stitched rubber sole, this model was extremely popular amongst artisans seeking comfortable shoes capable of withstanding wear and tear.
The mahogany red leather version was very popular as it disguised any blood stains.
The Imbattable will forever be the model that truly symbolises Les Halles de Paris, making it the obvious choice for this collaboration.
