This Fall-Winter 2022 season is marked by our collaboration with Engineered Garments. The brand was founded by Daiki Suzuki in New-York in 1999 after being inspired by his years as a buyer for Nepenthes stores.
Through his words, discover the behind the scenes of this collaboration:
« As a brand, our goal is to create clothes that become more personal through the experiences you have with them. We pay attention to the construction of unique garments, attention to detail, the meaning and hidden qualities behind each design. We venture into contradictory themes by moving away from “perfect design”. We are not engineers.
The Michael is one of Paraboot’s most famous shoes. Many designers and brands have worked with it in the past. Nevertheless, it is also one of my favorite models. So it’s natural that I chose this model to work the collaboration for EG.
I used to hike in the mountains as a teenager – in the 70’s – and I love all mountain gear. My favorite shoes were Galibier boots and Dolomite Cortina shoes. Going with the Michael model, I wanted to have old D-ring eyelets and found the best location after several tries. I also wanted to bring back the combination of hairy suede and oil-tanned leather that I used to see on my old mountain boots. With the milled Norwegian welt, Marche sole and matching tone-on-tone stitching, the Michael became the EG version of the mountain shoe. »
